J&K Police Arrests Drug Peddler in Ganderbal; Contraband Substances Recovered
GANDERBAL, NOV 25: In a significant step towards eradicating the drug menace from society, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
Details of the Incident
A police party from Police Station Ganderbal established a checkpoint near Wayil Bridge. During the operation, they intercepted a suspicious individual identified as Gulzar Ashraf Khan (son of Mohammad Ashraf Khan), a resident of Buderkund, Ganderbal.
During a personal search, the police recovered a substantial quantity of *Bhung Patri* (a Cannabis derivative) from his possession. The contraband was seized immediately, and the accused was arrested on the spot.
Legal Action Taken
A case has been registered under FIR No. 196/2025 with relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Ganderbal. Further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
